News from the Sea

Rea Shaish, Yael and Yotam Lenhardt, ringers-in-training from the Jerusalem Bird Observatory, came for a visit and did some sea-watching between the 18th and 21st of July.

On the 18th, they managed to relocate a Brown Booby (Sula leucogaster) that was previously found by Nick Lethaby. Three Bridled Terns (Sterna anaetheus) also showed up and joined the usual flock of fifteen White-cheeked Terns (Sterna repressa), Common Terns (Sterna hirundo) and little Terns (sterna albifrons).

On the 21st, two Lesser-crested Terns (Sterna benegalensis) also arrived.

Also around were five Western Reef Herons (egretta gularis) and five Green Backed Herons (Buttorides striatus).
