There are many ways to help the IBRCE.
 

The work is varied.  You may be involved in trapping birds, repairing nets, surveys and bird observation, help rehabilitate weak and wounded birds and help with the general maintenance of the sanctuary. All of the above tasks are equally important.

Donations keep us afloat.  The Sanctuary is the beautiful place it is because of the generous donations we have been given

Lake Anita  was created as a present to "Anita" from the Gat family. It now is not only a beautiful addition to the park but also serves to fuel many birds on their arduous journey by giving them a resting stop with food.

The Bausch Trail was funded by Betty Bausch and was created to give wheelchair access to areas of the park that were otherwise impossible to reach. Now many people have the enjoyment of walking the trail around Lake Anita.

We have been helped with the general running of the station by being given donations for cars.  Mrs Lynette Mitchell kindly donated the Renault Kangoo

 

which is still a loyal friend of the center.  In 2006 we were given financing by the Bay Foundation to buy a Chrysler Uplander which will help us greatly with birding tours.

Without the help of these donations the center would not function as well as it does but we need more. 

The serious problems arising from global warming are pushing us to increase our research programs and for this we need to increase our volunteers.  We need to have funding not only to fund our volunteers through the seasons but also to give us the resources to begin the research necessary.  Each project we begin needs manpower, materials and transport.  None of these three are cheap!
